Padavu 2023, a State-level dairy farmers’ meet, was held at the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in Mannuthy, Thrissur, from February 10 to 15. The event was formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on February 13. NSS volunteers of VKIDFT volunteered the whole event from start to the end. Volunteers enthusiastically came forward for their support services like giving directions to the participants, assisting the organisers of the event, supplying food and water , arranging the stage and rooms etc. Some of us also carried out a flashmob for the purpose of adbvertising the event.We conducted flashmobs at nearly 17 main places of Thrissur like kunnamkulam bus stand, Shakthan stand, Vadakkancherry bus stand ,Thekkinkadu ground,in front of Chempookkavu DD office etc.
Wemade a stall of dairy and food products including paneer samosa, watermelon milkshake , peda, Gulab Jamun, milk Sarbath, ice cream, etc.which were kept for sale. Volunteers themselves prepared the dishes.
We started our activities at 7.00 am everyday for the preparation and by 7.00 pm we successfully closed the stall.The volunteers explained the nutritive value of dairy and food products of to all the visitors .Also, we had the opportunity to sell the products personally to our teachers and other staff members which was only possible because of their support.On these 6 days of PADAVU, everyone had actively participated at our stall giving a fruitful result .This activity gave us loads of memories and experience that could be carried forward.
